Genuwin Reign RM 11U fell to Barrington Fillies 11U 11-10 on Sunday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at 10 in the bottom of the seventh when Faith A singled, scoring one run.
Genuwin Reign RM 11U collected 18 hits and Barrington Fillies 11U had nine in the high-scoring affair.
Genuwin Reign RM 11U got on the board in the top of the first inning after Megan M singled, scoring one run, and a dropped third strike scored two runs.
Barrington Fillies 11U jumped into the lead in the bottom of the third when Caroline R singled, scoring two runs, a passed ball scored one run, and Ava M drew a walk, scoring one run.
Genuwin Reign RM 11U jumped back into the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Quinn G grounded out, and Barrington Fillies 11U committed an error, each scoring one run.
Barrington Fillies 11U made the score 9-6 in the bottom of the fifth after Caroline singled, scoring one run, Faith singled, scoring two runs, and Harper D grounded out, scoring one run.
Genuwin Reign RM 11U tied the game up in the top of the sixth thanks to two singles. Genuwin Reign RM 11U tied the game at nine on a single by Kelsie R.
Genuwin Reign RM 11U took the lead in the top of the seventh. Gabby H singled, scoring one run, to give Genuwin Reign RM 11U the upper hand, 10-9.
Barrington Fillies 11U took the lead, 11-10, in the bottom of the seventh thanks to singles by Caroline, and Faith.
Caroline earned the win for Barrington Fillies 11U. The righty surrendered 18 hits and 10 runs (six earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking none. Sky L took the loss for Genuwin Reign RM 11U. The righty went four innings, surrendering nine runs (five earned) on six hits, striking out nine and walking four.
Genuwin Reign RM 11U amassed 18 hits in the game. Kelsie, the number seven hitter for Genuwin Reign RM 11U, led the way with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Gabby and Kaylee S each collected three hits for Genuwin Reign RM 11U. Gianna S, Makenzie M, and Sky each collected multiple hits for Genuwin Reign RM 11U.
Barrington Fillies 11U accumulated nine hits in the game. Caroline provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Barrington Fillies 11U with four runs batted in.
