Reign 2025 CH 14U snatched the lead late in their 6-5 victory over Thunder Elite Premier 2011 13U on Sunday. The game was tied at five in the top of the seventh when Sofia Valle singled, scoring one run.
Maddie Lanigan collected four hits in four at bats in the win. Lanigan singled in the second inning, singled in the fourth inning, doubled in the sixth inning, and singled in the first inning.
Thunder Elite Premier 2011 13U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Layla C doubled to center field, and Reign 2025 CH 14U committed an error, each scoring one run.
Reign 2025 CH 14U jumped back into the lead in the top of the second inning after Carsyn Hansen singled to left field, Lanigan singled to center field, and Marissa Leaf singled up the middle, each scoring one run.
Thunder Elite Premier 2011 13U captured the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the third after Ava F doubled down the right field line, and Lexi Y singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.
Lanigan singled down the left field line, which helped Reign 2025 CH 14U tie the game at four in the top of the fourth.
Reign 2025 CH 14U took the lead in the top of the sixth. Aubree Jandura singled, scoring one run, to give Reign 2025 CH 14U the upper hand, 5-4.
Y singled, which helped Thunder Elite Premier 2011 13U tie the game at five in the bottom of the sixth.
Lanigan began the game for Reign 2025 CH 14U. The lefty surrendered eight hits and four runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out four and walking none. Y started the game for Thunder Elite Premier 2011 13U. The right-handed pitcher allowed 15 hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking two.
Reign 2025 CH 14U amassed 15 hits in the game. Hansen, Gracie Brewer, Valle, and Jandura each collected multiple hits for Reign 2025 CH 14U.
Thunder Elite Premier 2011 13U amassed eight hits in the game. Y provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Thunder Elite Premier 2011 13U with two runs batted in.
