Torunn Cornelius’s Big Day Propels GenuWin Reign KS 15U Past EP Eclipse 18U

Torunn Cornelius drove in four runs on two hits to lead GenuWin Reign KS 15U past EP Eclipse 18U 12-0 on Sunday at John Humphrey Complex. Cornelius doubled in the second inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the first inning, scoring one.
GenuWin Reign KS 15U got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Cornelius doubled to center field, Leah McKenzie singled down the left field line, and Hayden Street hit a sacrifice fly, each scoring one run.
GenuWin Reign KS 15U scored six runs on five hits in the bottom of the second inning. Cornelius doubled, scoring two runs, Claire Podrebarac homered to center field, scoring three runs, and Maeve Carlton hit a solo home run to center field.
A fielder’s choice by Cornelius, and a walk by Podrebarac helped GenuWin Reign KS 15U extend their early lead in the third.
Podrebarac earned the win for GenuWin Reign KS 15U. The right-handed pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out three and walking one. Maeve Emmons took the loss for EP Eclipse 18U. The starting pitcher went one and one-third innings, allowing eight runs (seven earned) on eight hits, striking out one and walking none.
GenuWin Reign KS 15U tallied 10 hits in the game. Cornelius, Aislin Gagen, and Carlton each collected two hits for GenuWin Reign KS 15U. GenuWin Reign KS 15U turned one double play in the game. GenuWin Reign KS 15U were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Carlton made the most plays with three.
Ellie Wood led EP Eclipse 18U with one hit in one at bat.
