GenuWin Reign KS 16U beat Indiana Gators Premier Oezer 15U 6-3 on Sunday.
GenuWin Reign KS 16U jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the second inning after Mackenzie DuRell doubled, scoring one run, and Aislin Gagen singled, scoring two runs.
Indiana Gators Premier Oezer 15U tied the game in the top of the fifth thanks to a single by Maria Jones (2029), a fielder’s choice by Anika Oezer (2029), and a hit by a pitch.
In the bottom of the fifth, GenuWin Reign KS 16U broke up the tie when Emma Sommerfeld doubled, scoring one run. Then a single by Maeve Carlton followed to extend the lead to 6-3.
Claire Podrebarac earned the win for GenuWin Reign KS 16U. The right-handed pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking three. Sophie Singleton (2029) took the loss for Indiana Gators Premier Oezer 15U. The starting pitcher went three and one-third innings, surrendering three runs on six hits, striking out none and walking one.
GenuWin Reign KS 16U tallied nine hits in the game. DuRell went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead GenuWin Reign KS 16U in hits. Carlton and Gagen each drove in two runs for GenuWin Reign KS 16U. GenuWin Reign KS 16U turned one double play in the game. GenuWin Reign KS 16U were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Sommerfeld made the most plays with four.
Jones (2029), Caylee Oxley (2028), Singleton (2029), Hailey Shepherd (2029), and Morgan Higgins (2029) each collected one hit for Indiana Gators Premier Oezer 15U. Jones (2029), Oezer (2029), and Jessica Ferguson (2029) each drove in one run for Indiana Gators Premier Oezer 15U.
